Join us on Saturday, July 12 at 11:00 am for a special “Meet the Authors” event featuring Kari Lininger-Downs and Janice Rustad Lininger, co-authors of “Bowen: An Unfinished Life”.
Set long before the made-for-TV version of cattle ranching and family drama captured the imagination of America, this compelling biography delves into the life of Murrel K. Bowen, a tenacious homesteader and entrepreneur who faced sabotage, lawlessness, and political intrigue as the Bowens fought to keep their land, fortunes, and family together in the face of sabotage, lawlessness, and political intrigue. Set against the rugged backdrop of the early 20th-century West, Bowen’s story is a testament to resilience and ambition of early homesteaders in Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear the authors discuss the inspiration behind the book, participate in a Q&A session, and enjoy a book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event. Light refreshments will be served.
This event is free to attend.
Transportation from the Museum to the downtown Art Walk will be available via the O'Fallon Historical Society's trackless train.
